The Spanish Super Cup (Supercopa de España) is a Spanish Football Cup, founded in 1982 and run by the Spanish Football Association. The trophy is worn every summer at the season's opening and is only one round and only two participating teams. Bringing together the team that won the previous season in the Spanish League and the team that won the previous season in the Spanish King's Cup. In 2019 the format has changed and four teams will play to win the title with the semi-finals and finals. There will be no play on third place. Until the 1995 edition, if a team won a double, it would automatically win the Super Cup; Since 1996, a double-winning team has been contending with the trophy holder for this title.
